Specialist Vestibular and Facial Physiotherapist

Lauren Shelvey (MCSP HCPC) graduated from Cardiff University with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc). Alongside her work in private practice, Lauren is a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist in the Vestibular and Facial Rehabilitation team at Guy’s Hospital. Her role involves working alongside highly specialist ENT and Consultant Plastic Surgeons in both Facial Nerve and Balance Clinics. She is a member of the Facial Therapy Specialists UK (FTS UK) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR).

Lauren is passionate about advancing the care of patients with balance and facial function disorders. She has extensive clinical experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with a range of balance disorders, dizziness and vertigo. She also has expertise in the physiotherapeutic management of facial palsy, including conditions of Bell’s Palsy, Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, traumatic palsies, and those following head and neck surgery.

Sustaining a facial palsy or living with vertigo can be a deeply distressing experience and Lauren prioritises the health and wellbeing of her patients. She is a friendly and enthusiastic practitioner, dedicated to providing sound clinical advice, education and person-centred rehabilitation plans for patients with facial and balance function disorders.
