OK, so we may not be sure just how you ‘train’ for being caked in mud during the upcoming popular Tough Mudder obstacle race, but we do know that the core is at the centre of making it around the gruelling 10-12-mile course.

Pilates and evidence-based core exercises as part of your training are crucial in helping to do those muddy tasks safely – from upper body strength needed for Hero Walls, Balls to the Wall and Funky Monkey to crawling through the Kiss of Mud. Thanks to our Pilates instructor, Monica Halper, one of our chartered physiotherapists, Sheena Patel, is storming ahead in her training before the summer event raising money for the Herod charity.
