Michelle has been practising Yoga and Pilates for over 20 years, teaching professionally since 2010, is a fully qualified vinyasa yoga Teacher, Matwork Pilates Instructor, Alan Herdman trained Comprehensive Studio Equipment Instructor, and brings many years of experience as a Bodyworker.
“Increasingly we are understanding the effects that a busy, urban-dwelling, perhaps also sedentary life-style, may be having on our overall health; our fitness, strength, flexibility, joint mobility, mental health, stress levels, and so our general well-being, may all suffer at some point.
From personal experience, and anecdotal stories from clients, colleagues, family and friends, I strongly believe that yoga and Pilates can work fantastically well to help alleviate some of the stresses and strains of modern day life, that is why I truly feel I have one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. Taking time out as often as possible to engage in health-positive activities, to relax and renew, to re-connect with our friends, families and loved ones, is I believe, essential to our overall health and well-being.”
Michelle draws on her experience in Pilates, Yoga, and as a Bodyworker, and studio sessions are tailored to the specific needs of the group or the individual, on a session to session basis. Group classes may include elements such as meditation, Classical and contemporary Pilates exercises, breathing exercises, mindful movement, functional movement patterns, and restorative and relaxation techniques, with bio-mechanically smart tuition offering students insight and understanding of anatomy and the physical mechanics of the body, and how best to optimise movement for their specific needs, ability, or level.
